For your comfort we use very fine needles OR light pressure at specific points on the body.

We also offer ear acupuncture also known as auricular acupuncture, and ear acupressure or ear seeds.

Three types of Acupuncture

At Valley Naturopath, we offer three types of acupuncture – trigger point release, acupuncture based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and ear acupuncture, also known as auricular acupuncture, ear acupressure or ear seeds – which also falls under Traditional Chinese Medicine.

These three approaches can be used separately or they can be combined.

1) Trigger point release

This approach basically involves systematically inserting fine needles “where it hurts” to release trigger points and treat concerns locally.

2) Traditional Chinese acupuncture

A unique holistic approach

Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM is a unique school of medicine that has been around for thousands of years. It is a holistic system of medicine based on observing the living body and the world around us. Acupuncture points are located on meridians on the body.

3) Ear acupuncture or ear seeds

Ear acupuncture is also called auricular acupuncture. At Valley Naturopath we also offer ear acupuncture where very fine needles are inserted at specific points on the ear for specific therapeutic purposes, and ear acupressure or ear seeds, where small seeds are taped to specific points on the ear, so that gentle pressure can be applied there for therapeutic purposes.

Ear acupuncture or ear seeds can be useful with a number of health concerns including: insomnia, quitting smoking, weight loss, and mental health issues like anxiety.

Acupuncture or acupressure – useful with a number of different health concerns

TCM-based acupuncture and trigger point release can be useful for a number of health concerns, and the approaches can be combined.

Common concerns where acupuncture might be used include: fatigue, immune-boosting, sports injuries, chronic pain, trouble sleeping, fertility problems, digestive issues, weight loss, quitting smoking, alcoholism, other addictions, mental health issues and more.
